Only problem with a separate MIDI interface is that you also have to have a power adapter. It also might be a solution if any other MIDI USB devices dont work for you, such as the Alesis Drum Controller. You can create your own links between the pitch-wheel and the VST/Instrument wrapper's pitch knob. It's my opinion that these controllers should be linked by default.
